HARRY ALLEN ESQUE
Harry Allen is a multiple award winning NYC based designer known for his flair and innovation. Time magazine called him one of “the people behind today’s most influential design”. His practice ranges widely and includes industrial and product design, as well as interior and graphic design. Allen’s works are included in numerous museum collections including the Museum of Modern Art, NYC, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Israel, Gardiner Museum, Toronto, among others and have been featured in leading design, fashion and architectural publications worldwide.
Esque Studio is the result of a 20-year long collaboration between artists Andi Kovel and Justin Parker. The name Esque refers to the suffix meaning “in the manner of”, and is an intentional nod to and acknowledgment of outside influences and inspiration. The two meet at Brooklyn’s UrbanGlass studio, where they worked as artists for hire for leading contemporary artists and designers. Their shared vision and aspiration gave birth to Esque, with the concept of creating modern, functional, concept-based glassware aimed at the design industry and away from the pedestal. Through the years the duo has lead the movement of trend in glass, by breaking the rules and outdated notions of craft and material associated with their medium. Kovel and Parker have risen to international acclaim, most notably by the honor of being named part of Time Magazine’s “Design 100”, today’s most influential and inspired international designers. They have designed and completed projects for clients including: Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, the W Hotel, Hugo Boss, Anthropologie, Sephora, Marmol Radziner, Studio Gang, and Design Within Reach.
